Nickname (and story behind it):
After running RSD softball teams for over the past 20 years, I've been called a lot of things, most of which we would not want to see in print!
Sports background:
Baseball and Football from Little League/ Pop Warner through high school. After high school mostly softball and golf.
Softball History:
Started playing police softball in 1977 with the Indio Police team.
Past Police Teams:
Indio PD (77' to 82') RSD Desert team (81' to 98') South Bay Heat (92'/93') DEA (94'/95') So Cal Combo (96' to 98') RSD Red (98' to present)
Proudest Police Softball Moments:
Of course all the medals won in the Police Games in California, Arizona & Nevada are all very special, but my greatest accomplishment would have to be building our current RSD Red team into the consistent winner it has been over the past seven years (17 medals).
Future personal goals in Police Softball:
At 51, I know my time is limited, so I just want to be able to stay healthy and competitive.
Where do you see our sport in 5-10 years:
Hopefully, bigger and better. The addition of the Police Softball web site and PS World Series have already made a great impact (Thanks Del, JB and Leo!).
What is one thing you would change about police softball:
I think we are big enough to have a 35 and over division in Police Softball and especially for the PS World Series. |
