 Sports Background: Highshcool 4 sport letterman (baseball, football, track, gymnatics). Played Jumior College baseball at Florida C.C. and was a finalist for the A.A.U. Junior Olympic National Gymnastic Team. Knee injury ended both my college baseball and gymnastic futures, but opened the door to the softball world.
Sports History: My brother, Jeff, pitched for the University of Florida and set the single season record for wins at the time, leading the Gators to the College World Series. Go Gators!!!!
Softball History: I have played for many Florida teams at the A/B level, most notably Vernon's, All American Specialty and Team Hooters.
Past Police Teams: I have played with J.P.S.C. for my entire12 yr police softball career.
Proudest Police Softball Moments: In my very first tournament with Jax. I was relagated to the roll of homerun ball shagger for the first two days of the tourney. But on Sunday, with the Jax machine playing in the championship game, one of the starters was injuried. I was called on to pinch hit and hit a game winning grand slam that hit a light pole. I felt like Robert Redford in the Natural. I have been in the staring line up ever since.....
Lowest Police Softball Moment: Shagging all those homerun balls for the first two days of my first ever Police Softball tournament!!!!
Future personal goals in police softball: I would like to play an entire tournamet drunk on Natural Light...just kidding Robbie. Actually, I would like to go out on top with a sweep of the big four (Jax, Dayton, Detroit, PS WS).
Where do you see our sport in 5-10 years: I would love to see it back thriving like it was when I first started. But, softball is declining at all levels. However, this web site has done alot to see that Police Softball stays alive and well for many years to come. Maybe my career will have come full circle in 10 yrs time and I will still have something to do with the Jax Machine, shagging homerun balls on Championship sunday drinking Natural Lights with my good friends!!
