PS.com Nick
Nickname (and story behind it)
"Kooter" There is no real story behind how I got my nickname. It boils down to when I was in High School and the other kids could not pronounce my last name. Some how they managed to whittle down and change it to Kooter, and it has stuck ever since...
Sports background
High School football and baseball. Currently play LE and civilian softball, and "old timers" baseball.
Softball History
Started in the late 80's playing city league with my PD team. Met Hollywood through a mutual friend and began playing city league with him. He was kind enough to invite me to tryout for the Concord team in the mid 90's which so happened to be the South Shore tournament (no pressure!!!) and I managed to make the team with a 3 run dong my very first at bat for them and as they say the rest is history.
Past Police Teams
A very short lived stint with the Vallejo PD team.
Proudest Police Softball Moments
I think my proudest moment was being selected to represent the Concord team in the 2005 All Star game
Lowest Softball Moment
The lowest for me was the 2005 tournament in Las Vegas where we swept our bracket and in doing so beat the team from Fort Worth who we knew nothing about except they were good. Then the wheels fell off the wagon in the playoffs going 2nQ. I don't know when I was ever so disappointed with our performance as a team...
Future personal goals in Police Softball
Just keep playing and meeting many new LE softball players from across the nation
Where do you see our sport in 5-10 years
I see our sport doing nothing but grow, grow and grow. Since this web site has started you can see the changes (good) that are happening in our sport. Can't wait till the day the west and east can play in more tournaments together, and with all the contacts that are being made over this site I see it in the near future.
MISC:
Whatever you want to cover…. I would just like to thank all at PS.com Leo, JB, and Del for all the hard work you put in to keeping the web site going, and keeping us all informed and up to date about LE tourneys across this great Nation.
