Name Stephen Matakovich
Nickname Hollywood
Uniform # 33
Team Steel City Enforcers
Agency Pittsburgh Police/Southside Division
Assignment Patrol Sergeant
PS.com Nick Hollywood33

Nickname: Hollywood. Although I have been subject to "East Hollywood" since losing the naming rights to Carl Gaskins. I have also been dubbed "Peaches" by the G-Boys, due to the peach hue of my gold BOOMBAH cleats.

Sports Background:
Played football & baseball in high school. Won the State Baseball Championship for Hopewell High in 1988 against Mike Mussina. Competitive Karate in the early 90's and currently Judo, earning a green belt.

Softball History:
Began when I was fifteen. My uncle needed a 2nd baseman for his Sunday league team. I volunteered to play and have been ever since.

Past Police Team:
This is my first, other than law enforcement tournaments within the Pittsburgh area and our annual union picnic.

Proudest Police Softball Moment:
Watching the Steel City Enforcers take the field for the first time and win their first game ever. We defeated the Dirty Jersey Boyz in Virginia Beach. We put a lot of work into getting the team organized and taking the field and winning was a great feeling.

Lowest Softball Moment:
Our terrible showing at Sterling Heights. We played some really great teams, and I can pinpoint two or three things each game that cost us a chance at winning.

Future personal goals in Police Softball:
Playing at the Police Softball World Series. I have to make it to the Field of Dreams.

Where do you see our sport in 5-10 years?
I had no idea that the PS.Com Softball network was so strong and powerful. I think that the young guys have to be more involved. The older guys are laying the ground work and the torch has to be passed.

In my photo are my gorgeous wife, Maryann. And our beautiful daughters, Aliahna and Gabrielle.
