Sports background
I started playing baseball when I was 12. I played little league, high school, and junior college in Oregon and San Diego. I ended my baseball career with 3 seasons in the NBC National baseball conference. 17 years behind the dish. It is a lot easier now days…
Softball History
I started playing softball in 1997. I played for different local teams in the San Diego area. For the past 3 years I have played with So Cal DeMarini (civilian).
Current Police Team
San Diego Excessive Force, 4 years and running.
Proudest Police Softball Moments
My proudest Police Softball Moment was when I was asked to represent the West Coast and SD Force in the first ever World Series All-Star game and Home Run derby.
Lowest Softball Moment
My lowest moment in Police Softball was when I received a standing eight count for trying to dispute the fact that street cops and jail/prison cops are not that much different.
Future personal goals in Police Softball
My personal goals in Police Softball are to travel and make more friends than I did last year. I would also like to be able to produce better numbers than I did in the previous year.
Where do you see our sport in 5-10 years?
I see Police Softball having many more players/teams than there are today. I also see more contractors and manufactures putting Big League Dreams parks in different areas of the 50 states.
What is on thing you would change about police softball?
I would make the season longer. I would also have it placed in every department MOA/SOP/P&P or what ever your department calls it, that all personnel who takes part in representing their department in an athletic manner shall have all fees taken care of by the department, DSA (Deputy Sheriff’s Association) or the POA (Police Officer Association).
