Concord Combo Claims the Ship!
It was a beautiful day in Vacaville with clear skies and 75 degree weather. It was a good time as many families and friends were at the park grilling and enjoying the sunshine. The homers were unlimited and the balls were rocks. It was a great day for hitters until the Vacaville winds kicked up in the afternoon. Two of the three fields remained homer-domes while the third became a long ball hitter’s nightmare.
After the three seeding games the brackets were set. The A Flight stood as #1 Choir Boys, #2 Aftershock and #3 Concord Combo. The B Flight stood as #1 Sac Probation, #2 Elite and #3 DVI.
At the conclusion of the single game elimination bracket, the A flight was down to Choir Boys and Concord Combo. It appeared Concord was going to walk away with it after building a quick 18 run lead early on, but the Choir Boys had other plans. Within minutes, the Choir Boys dropped a 15 spot to get back in it. With the ball flying out at a ridiculous rate, it became an absolute slugfest. Both teams looked sharp but in the end, it was Concords consistent hitting and steady defense that prevailed.
The B Flight championship was represented by NorCal Elite and Sac Probation. The two battled it out with the wind howling straight in from center field. With solid defense and clutch line drive hitting, Elite walked away with the #1 spot.
Congratulations to Concord Combo and NorCal Elite.
