A-1 Towing/ HardCor
Latest Tournament Report:
Winners of Star6.

In 2008:
One of the most fundamentally sounda and well rounded teams in the entire nation. Can hit for power, hit for average, play defense, run the bases well etc. Addition of slugger John Wasabi Birtcher will solidify the middle of this line-up.

In 2006:
Very strong and consistent all year finishing in the top 2 of their first five tournaments. Had a HUGE win in Vegas which showed this team can be one of the best in the nation. Hard-Cor came up a little short in the World Series by dropping games to the Quake and LAPD Blue. The top 4 ranked teams really split themselves apart from the rest of the pack this year and the 2-4 rankings could have gone either way. If Hard-Cor would have finished better than 9th in the World Series they could have easily been ranked 2 or 3.

Summary
The Hard Cor softball team was started in 1988 to compete in the CDC Olympics. After earning several medals, the team started competing in the California Police Games. In the mid-90's, some inter- department controversy caused the team to take a couple of years off.
In 1993, several players combined with other CDC prison teams to earn the GOLD Medal at the World Police and Fire Games in Colorado, and again in 1995 in Melbourne Australia. In 1997, they earned the BRONZE medal, losing to LA Sheriff Red and NYFD while competing in Calgary Canada.
In 2002, the current team was formed by Sgt. Val Rangel by combining the two prisons now operating in Corcoran, Ca. The current team is made up of correctional staff form Corcoran State Prison, and the Parole Division of CDC. Each of our current players have college or pro baseball experience, and one ex-major leaguer.
Hard Cor will see some drastic changes in 2005, due to the loss of some long time players and team leaders. Val Rangel, Arcee Pyle, and Frank Martinez have all stepped away from the game. We have made some new additions to the roster to include Benny Diaz, and Robert Robles. Jim Greenlee, Rick Cazares, and Jake Martinez will attempt to fill the shoes left behind by long time Manager Val Rangel.

How We Beat You
We used to beat you with the long ball. In 2005, we will hit with you, play defense, and hit the timely long ball.
How You Beat Us
Stay with us, and beat us in the end. Our bats tend to go cold.
Team Highlight
Back to Back Gold Medals in the California Games-2003,2004.
Team Lowlight
2004 Palm Springs top 8. The retirement of three long time teammates.
Goals
To earn the respect of other Law Enforcement teams for being a quality softball team, and a team that plays the game with CLASS. We want teams to know that when they play us, we will play hard, but play with respect for the game, and respect for the other team.
