The Beach Bums were formed in 2006. The team contains only three original members of the former Newport Beach PD team that was very competitive throughout the 1990's. In order to field a complete team, the former NBPD team has combined with a few players from Buena Park PD, Fountain Valley PD, Huntington Beach PD and Westminster PD. We are a competitive team with solid defense and hitting and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with playing against other law enforcement teams. We recently obtained a sponsorship from CEO Brian Fargo and inXile Entertainment, which is a video game development company. They are well known for their free online game Line Rider (www.linerider.com), which contains millions of players worldwide, as well as other popular video games such as the Bard's Tale. Through their support, the Beach Bums plan to become a familiar face among police tournaments.

Disappointments come from poor playing. That being said, it's hard to list lowlights when we're all healthy enough to play competitive softball with and against our brothers in law enforcement

Our goals are to be professional, have fun, be recognized as a respectable competitive softball team, consistently make the A flight, and rank in the top 10 in the West Coast.
