Buckeye Lawmen
Latest Tournament Report:
Battle of Badges CHAMPS!

In 2008:
This team is an off shoot of the Tri-County Lawmen who went 1-4 in the 2005 World Series and 0-4 in the 2006 World Series. So with their 1-8 All-Time World Series record, what do they do? Beat some of the best teams in the nation and finish second out of forty five teams in the 2007 World Series. The team lost Chris “Cabeza” Killop back to Michigan Lawmen but it looks like they kept power hitting Randy Thivierge at catcher. This team’s World Series performance showed their #3 finish at 2007 Dayton wasn’t a fluke. Beating Jacksonville twice in a year is also quite the accomplishment given that JPSC only lost 4 games on the season. PoliceSoftball.com named Buckeye coaches Chris Moore and Tom Siedlecki as East Coast Coaches of the Year on day one of the World Series and their performance later in the tournament solidified their selection and proved PoliceSoftball.com to be master prognosticators of the future. The Buckeye’s showed some 5 man infield in 2007 but with any team trying it for the first time, they weren’t totally comfortable with it. Expect them to use it more in 2008 and we suspect by the end of the season, it will be one of their mainstays. This team finished #2 in the East rankings of 2007 and showed they are on par with the best teams in the state of Ohio. 2008 OUTLOOK: By now this team should realize they are no longer Cinderella and should walk out on the field expecting to win. If they have turned the corner and are doing that, expect big things from them in 2008.

In 2006:
Solid all year, – Decent start to the season with 3rd place finish in Virginia Beach, but then faltered some. Has got to get back to having fun to bring the Virginia Beach magic back. Poor showing in WS hurts their overall rank. Look for them to re-group and crack the top 7 in ’07 WS

Summary
The Buckeye Lawmen goal is to build an organization that fosters friendships for life. To provide fellow officers the opportunity to participate in worthwhile events and take a break from the everyday stresses of police work. To maintain an organization that participants can be proud of and others will respect. Finally; to raise awareness, funds, and retain memories for those police-related causes that often fade with time.
