When we look at our Player of the Year candidates, we look for players who elevate their teams by making an unmistakeable and positive impact. Butch Crozier is a veteran player who made that immediate impact when he came to the NYPD Blues in 2009. Since his arrival, the Blues are a much improved team and they once again walk with the swagger of knowing they can play with any team in the circuit. Butch is a legitimate 800 hitter and can change games by his prowess on the bump. With his bat, glove and pitching ability, Butch is a unique player who can change a game in many ways.
Besides being a leader on the field, Butch is a leader off the field and in the dugout. Butch loves to share his knowledge with the younger players and teaches the younger players hitting techniques and the way the game should played.
Butch brings a true professional attitude to the game and is extremely well respected by his peers. Many times this award has gone to younger players on the circuit but at age 47, Butch is the oldest player to have EARNED this award. We tip our hats to this veteran player and we look forward to him bringing his intensity to the field as he is staring down hitters for the NYPD Blues at the World Series in Las Vegas.
PoliceSoftball.com is proud to announce Butch Crozier as our East Coast Player of the Year.
