Central Ohio Lawmen/Sonitrol
Latest Tournament Report:
Tied for 9th in Dayton.

In 2008:
This will be the third year of the Dayton Metro-Columbus Police Softball team merger. In each of the first two seasons consistency has been a problem as there has been very little consistent team play and even less consistency in the roster. 2007 was supposed to be the year the roster problem was solved with the pre-season additions of Jim Haley, Scott Hyland, Tommy Burton and others. A drunk driver struck Haley on a Columbus area highway and injury sidelined Haley for the season after a strong showing in Jacksonville. Scott “Bump” Hyland Tommy and Burton proved to be valuable additions. Bump played a gold-glove third base and Burton's versatility and timely hitting led the team to strong finishes in Dayton and Palm Springs. The Central Ohio team will try to solidify their ever changing roster with some additional talent, some old and some new. New to the Law Enforcement circuit in 2008 will be former NFL player Curtis Enis. Few outside of rural Central Ohio have seen Enis on a softball field, but the kid is a BEAST. Other new additions are recent Columbus PD Academy graduates Jeff Beine and Adam Daugherty. Beine and Daugherty both had accomplished baseball careers and should breathe some life into their older teammates. Another player on the horizon is current academy recruit Brian Sass. Sass was a minor league 2B/SS for the Dodgers and Royals and should be able ot help the Central Ohio team come Dayton and the World Series. A few old faces should be back playing in the dirt in '08 for this team also. Utility player Jeremy Roy and Greg Gaier are both returning after taking a year off to provide some much needed depth. Those additions and stalwarts Terry Ables, Steve Fridley, Ryan Halburnt, Brian Kelly, Matt Weekley and Matt Woolf should provide the '08 Central Ohio team with the depth and talent to compete on a more consistent basis with the big boys

In 2006:
Always a threat, they travel to all the big tournaments even if they are short handed. Had two decent finishes at Sterling Heights and World Series. Had to rely on two Hall of Famers, Dave Woolf (57 yrs.) and Jimmy Roepken (55 yrs.), to even field a team in Palm Springs. Will this be a sign of trouble in ’07? Either way, this team battled hard at the WS and opened some eyes of people who did not expect much from them.
