Jacksonville Police Softball Club
Latest Tournament Report:
3rd in Dayton.

In 2008:
The JPSC is arguably the best team in the nation over the last five years and we at PoliceSoftball.com don’t see anything in 2008 that will change that. The team is loaded at every position and is once again the #1 ranked team going into the East season. This team has the hardest hitters 1-10 of any team in the nation and they walk out on the field expecting to win. The team is led by Robbie Freitas who is one of the better player/coaches in the game and a former winner of the PoliceSoftball.com Coach of the Year award. Alan Westfal was one of the best players in the East last season and the Sterling Hts. MVP had some serious consideration for East Coast Player of the Year. Add Hall of Famer Dennis Leonard, the Cullen brothers and Scott Bridges to the mix and this team is as balanced as any in the nation. We don’t see too many changes from them for 2008 but then again they don’t need any upgrades. While other teams are scrambling to add talent, the only change Jax will be making is they will be sporting the 08 3n2 shoe line so they should be a little quicker this year. 2008 OUTLOOK: Anything less than a #1 finish will surprise people.

In 2006:
Jacksonville Police Softball Club/3n2 - 2nd place in JAX, 5th in WPB, Repeat Dayton National Champions and Sterling Heights Champions. Beat #2 ranked Ohio Lawmen in JAX by 12 runs and finished higher than Ohio in the two tourneys they both showed up at. Would have been nice to see this team compete in World Series, but dominance in other tournaments is enough to give Jax top spot. An ‘07 championship in Dayton would be the tournament’s first three-peat since Nassau County in 76-79

Made it all the way to the undefeated game but got double dipped by a strong Metro squad. Still a great start for this powerhouse crew.

The Jacksonville squad is made up of veteran full time Police Officers from Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa. The team is coached by player/coach Robbie Frietas who (correctly) says being a player and a coach is the hardest thing to do in softball.
