Michigan Lawmen
Latest Tournament Report:
Runners up in Dayton.

In 2008:
2008 should be an exciting year for the Lawmen. 2008 brings in some old faces along with new ones from some other Michigan teams. The Michigan Lawmen feel they are a family with values and that is what they want to show for 2008. Missing from the 2007 squad for most of the season, we expect to see Jeff “Biscuit” Graus, HR Derby King Scott Czopek, and Chris Killop among others back wearing blue again. PoliceSoftball.com Hall of Famer Mike McDowell, AKA “Pops” will be at the helm and managing the Lawmen and will bring knowledge, dedication and experience to the position. Assisting him will be veteran Stan “Chilly” Chiles. Chiles is a very calming influence and will be a great help to McDowell. The Lawmen have some great sponsors lined up for 2008 and they along with a dedicated team will make sure the Lawmen have the resources to be successful. Offensively and defensively this team will be strong and defensively they will be able to do the things needed to contend for #1. 2008 OUTLOOK: This team has had its share of movement over the last 12 months, but no matter the player situation, this team delivers. In the last three years the team has not finished lower than #5 in the rankings and have made the final 4 in 2 out of the last 3 World Series. It appears the Lawmen are starting out 2008 with clear direction and that direction may just lead them to #1 when the season shakes out.

In 2006:
Won Virginia Beach and WPB over some strong teams. 0-2 in Dayton was a total collapse. 3rd in Sterling Heights was good but underachieving. Tied for 7th was a good finish and got some respect back at the World Series. A top 5 finish is a great year but this team may be disappointed as they have the talent to be #1.

Summary
This team has roots going back to the 1970s. Over the years we have merged to become the Michigan lawmen.
Tournaments Hosted
We don't officially host a tourny but Sterling Heights, MI is our home tournament.
How We Beat You
HEART, HEART and more HEART along with a great deal of talent at each position. We never feel that we are out of any game; because we can score runs in a hurry with a mix of power and timely hitting; while our defense can shut you down,
How You Beat Us
Catch us flat and out hit us. But good luck, it doesn't happen often.
Team Highlight
Although we have won numerous tournaments including a three-peat of the USSSA National Championship in Sterling Heights, the biggest highlight came this past offseason when we were able to re-unite our ENTIRE team after a brief lapse of consciousness. Finishing 4th in the 2007 World Series with a re-built team was pretty great too.
Team Lowlight
"The 2007 Midseason Debacle"; where our team briefly disbanded. Enough said, We don't talk about that anymore. See above. "WE ARE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER !"
Goals
To help strengthen Police Softball and be ambassadors for our great sport. To represent law enforcement and our tremendous sponsores with respect, dignity and pride. And finally to keep the "Brotherhood" of Law Enforcement alive, Without each other, who would be have?
