Jack Olson and John Scollo team up to put on a great tournament
This years annual West Palm Beach tournament once again raised the bar and showed why it is one of the best tournaments on the circuit. Jack Olson, John Scollo and all the people who helped deserve a pat on the back for making this a special tournament. Although the rain was threatening the entire weekend, it stayed away at the right times to allow the tournament and associated festivities to mostly go on unabated. For those players in town on Thursday, there was a great time had at Rocco’s Tacos and Dr. Feelgoods. Friday saw the annual golf tournament and players party at the Grease Burger bar.
All during the weekend, many players got to meet a very special person, Captain Sargent of the WPB PD. Captain Sargent has been diagnosed with ALS and there was an ongoing fund raiser for him during the weekend. Captain Sargent was on hand and was able to meet many of the players.
Come Saturday morning, the games began. Pool play had some very good match-ups. Arguably the toughest bracket was the NYPD, NY Metro and Miami Metro Red bracket. NY Metro was favored in this bracket but Miami came out hot and ended up beating both NY area teams with NY metro grabbing the second spot.
