We don't know what to make of the Boys. On paper they are as good as anyone. Line up is loaded with studs. But once they get on the field they are inconsistent. They could be great or awful and that is a game to game thing, but inconsistency is common nowadays with many teams. The more concerning part is they now seem focused on staying with the one-day Friday tourneys focused on small market teams. Are they still a Majors travel team? Are they a small market local only team? This could be an organizational defining year depending on who/when/where they play. They seem to have the sponsors, leaders and talent to be a Majors travel team. Do they have the desire?

Status quo with the Choir Boys. Once again they flirted with greatness at the World Series and once again they got nipped in some close games. Rumor is next year will be Steve Merchant's last year and his loyal players intend to send him out with a bang in 2011. Another rumor is some of their players are being heavily recruited to join other teams in NorCal. Will be interesting to see where the pieces fall when the dust settles.
