NY Metro Wins Trooper Miller Tournament
NY Metro showcased power and defense on its way to winning the first Trooper Joshua D. MILLER Memorial tournament held at the Drifton Softball complex in Drifton PA Sept 18, 19. The tournament finals concluded with a NY Metro win over a very gutsy Shamrock team from NJ.
NY Metro went 3-0 in bracket play and least runs scored against to earn the number # 1 seed, Shamrock went 3-0 and the # 2 seed, Steel City also went 3-0 and the number # 3 seed, rounding out the four brackets Team Jersey went 3-0 and earned the number # 4 seed.

First round of double elimination NY Metro defeated Scranton PD (PA), next up Team Jersey defeated the Montgomery County Young Gunz, the bottom half went like this the Road Dogs upset Steel City in a very close game that came down to the bottom of the 7th; Steel City needed three runs to tie the game, they scored one run and the game ended. Next Shamrock defeated a very stubborn Capital City.

Second round was interesting and went this way, NY Metro defeated Team Jersey, the Road Dogs would strike again by defeating Shamrock.

The first round of the losers bracket had the Young Gunz defeating Scranton PD, Steel City defeated Capital City; Scranton PD and Capital City are eliminated.
The second round of the losers bracket Shamrock defeated Young Gunz and Steel City defeated the gritty Team Jersey; this set up a showdown between two East Coast Power Houses Shamrock and Steel City. Shamrock defeated Steel City and went to the losers finals to wait for the loser of the NY Metro and Road Dogs final.

NY Metro handed the Road Dogs their first loss and sent them to the losers finals where they would have an epic battle with Shamrock loosing a 37-36 marathon game in which Shamrock had a 30-10 lead at one point in the game, however the Road Dogs fought back but couldn't take the win.

The finals had undefeated NY Metro facing a very strong Shamrock team. NY Metro proved why they are one of the premier teams in the country by soundly defeating Shamrock to take the title and first place prize money.
