Brought to you by the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff's Association
Over the next few weeks PoliceSoftball.com will be announcing our year end awards that we will be presenting at the World Series. These awards recognize individuals for their hard work and their names will be permanently archived in our World Series records section of PoliceSoftball.com. Throughout the year PoliceSoftball.com receives input on these awards and many times these awards are nominated by teams, players and coaches. We review all the potential candidates for the awards and we then make the many times tough decisions because there are some many quality candidates year in and year out. Sometimes the decisions are very clear but many times it is a difficult selection process. Since the inception of our awards program, Anthony “Bigtone” Costanzo has been a huge supporter of our efforts and it is one of the many things he does behind the scenes to help make police softball a better experience for all involved. Bigtone’s unselfish efforts and behind the scenes work is just one of the many reasons why he is so well qualified to to be a 2010 inductee into the PoliceSoftball.com Hall of Fame.
We would like to give Bigtone and the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff’s Association a very big thank you for all their support and assistance they have given specifically to police softball and police athletics in general. Their help has been greatly appreciated and very much an integral part to our awards program. Now on to the first award of 2010.
This year’s East Coast Sponsor of the Year is going to Don Caravona and Mike Czack. Don and Mike are two attorneys who practice in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Don and Mike have been financially supporting police softball for the past 15 years. They initially sponsored the Cleveland Metro teams in the 1990’s, then the Buckeye Lawmen, and now Team Kentucky Ohio. Without their help, it is certainly true many of these teams would never have lasted as long as they did or even existed in the first place. Their continued support for the police officers on these teams has been unconditional and consistent for many years. Words alone can’t begin to describe how TKO and the teams they have supported feel about Don and Mike and they are very well deserving of our recognition for helping officers connect on a profession and personal level which helps us in some many ways do a better job of policing our nation.
The members of TKO would like to thank Don and Mike for helping them play a game they love and for providing them with memories that will last a lifetime.
Both Don and Mike plan on attending World Series VI so please introduce yourself and thank them for their assitance to police softball if you see them.
