Outlaws Are Re-Building And Determined To Field A Strong Squad In 08 |
by: Will Salmon & Policesoftball.com Dec 07, 2007
The Inglewood Outlaws will be rolling out in 2008 as known only as the Outlaws. Jimmy Sola from Torrance PD will be the manager helped out by Etahn Siddall (Inglewood PD) and big Gus Rubio. You might know Jimmy from playing SS for the Cal-Quake on occasion including in the 07 World Series. Gus played 3B for the SoCal Alliance in the 05 World series. They will be looking to compete in 8 to 10 tournies and have some old faces and a couple of new ones. If Jimmy gets commitment from the guys he wants they have some solid ball players.
This squad's roots can be traced back several years to the powerful South Bay Heat team that re-defined cop softball in California. They, along with the DEA Combo were among the original combo teams that were built to compete against the large agencies. In recent times the Outlaws have been known as giant killers, but they are now determined to dance with the heavyweights on a regular basis once again. Outlaw players recently participated in the GunsNHoses Tournament of Champions and opened some eyes by slaying the US Navy Mil-Spec team. That showing was just further confirmation that the Outlaws can bang with the heavyweights. Look for the Outlaws to make a run at the Boombah Points Chase Top 10.
Team leaders are also on the lookout for talented and dedicated players from the SoCal area so if you are interested in joining up with this re-vamped, re-dedicated and improved squad you can contact Will Salmon or Jimmy Sola via email.
