PoliceSoftball.com Names Team to Play Wounded Warriors at World Series

On Friday night at the World Series we will be blessed by some true American heroes and warriors. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team will be at the World Series and they will play a select group of police officers from across the nation. To create our police team, we looked at officers who are active in our sport/website, have given of their time to good causes, and who possibly had military experience. The officers selected to represent PoliceSoftball.com are:
Manager Terry Dugan – Virginia Lawmen: Terry is a member of the Police Softball Hall of Fame, a former PoliceSoftball.com Sportsman of the Year and former United States Marine.

Anthony “BigTone” Costanzo – Sacramento Razorbacks: Anthony is a member of the Police Softball Hall of Fame, a former PoliceSoftball.com Sportsman of the Year and he has been actively involved in the Star Six fallen officer foundation for many years.

Matt Woolf – Greene County Ohio Enforcers: Matt has grown up involved in police softball, is a member of the PoliceSoftball.com Competition Committee and he is actively involved in the Dayton National Police Softball Championship tournament.

Mitch Brouilette – SoCal Alliance: Mitch is a former United States Marine who served in the Gulf War and he was the SoCal Alliance 2010 MVP.

Stephen Matakovich – Steel City Enforcers: Stephen is one of the leaders of the Steel City Enforcers and a former member of the United States Air Force.

John Scollo –South Florida Lawmen: John runs the West Palm Beach Bacon Ball tournament, is a member of the PoliceSoftball.com Competition Committee and he is a former PoliceSoftball.com Manager of the Year.

Skip Stephenson – San Diego Grey: Skip is a Police Softball Hall of Fame Member and one of the elder statesmen of Police Softball.

Dan Pleckham – Chicago Metro: Dan is a former PoliceSoftball.com Sportsman of the Year and he is a former United States Marine.

Mike O’Neill Chicago Metro – Mike is a true ambassador of our game and he is also a former PoliceSoftball.com Sportsman of the Year.

Keith Benjamin – DEA Combo: Keith is a member of the police softball Hall of Fame and Former PoliceSoftball.com Sportsman of the Year.

Jim Lemmon – West Coast Aftershock: Jim coaches the West Coast Aftershock and is a former PoliceSoftball.com Sportsman of the Year.

Andy Domenici – Concord Combo: Andy coaches the Concord Combo team and is a former PoliceSoftball.com Sportsman of the Year.

Joe Markulic – Shamrock Enforcers: Joe has been very active in supporting Wounded Warriors and he has specifically been active in fund raising for Lance Corporal Colin Pascik who is a United States Marine who lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan.

Richard Covarrubias – West Coast PSC. Richard served eight years in the United States Marine Corps and he also lost his Brother-in-law, 1st Sgt. Blue Rowe (US ARMY), on May 26th 2009 in Afghanistan due to an IED.

David Stevens – Jacksonville PSC: David is a member of the police softball Hall of Fame and has contributed to PoliceSoftball.com greatly with his outstanding photography work.

Steven Garcia - Valley of Syn (Tulare County CA.): Steven is a Gulf War era veteran having served in the United Stated Marine Corps from 1987 to 1991. Steven proudly served in the 1st Marine Division, Combat Engineer Battalion.

Brad Borowy - Ohio Lawmen: Brad has led one of the top police softball teams in the country for many years, is a perennial Manager of the Year contender and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Raising money for the Wounded Warrior Softball Team will be a major goal of ours during the World Series as we would like to help these warriors. A portion of every shirt, batting glove and poster sold at the World Series will go towards these warriors.
