Much of police softball is dominated by offense but here at policesoftball.com, we value defense. Not just run of the mill defense, but the kind of defense that includes 100% effort, sweat, getting dirty and leaving your feet to make the play type of defense. And if you can do all of that with a smile, flair, and a sense of style, so much the better.
This year our west coast defensive player of the year is exactly what we are looking for. Quintin Lewis plays for West Coast AfterShock but in essence, he plays for us because he is a joy to watch hustle and run in the field. Q as he is known, always gives 100% effort and will frequently chase down balls in the gap and keep hitters from grabbing that extra base. No player out there gives more effort than Q.
Last year Q was a finalist for this award and this year he has only solidified his credentials.
If you see Q outside the lines, say hello and we guarantee you will get a hello and a smile back. If you see Q inside the lines, say hello but consider the consequences if you decide to take that extra base. You have been warned.
For another outstanding year, Quintin Lewis is our West Coast Defensive Player of the Year and the first outfielder to win this award. Congratulations!
