RSD Red
Latest Tournament Report:
Tied for 17th at PSPOA.

In 2008:
Like many teams in SoCal, the talk was there were some big changes in store for RSD RED. Most notably the rumors were they were going to be a senior team (over 35) again which would have left star players such as King George Reyes and Ray Gioletti looking for a team to land with. It looks like that decision was not made so expect to see the Red playing the hard hitting ball they have played the last few years. They are one of the top offensive teams in the West and the addition of speedy outfielder Steve Leone was a huge plus for this veteran squad. The Red, like Concord, finished in the top 5 in three different tournaments to end the season tied for 6 in the rankings. A good World Series would have propelled this team into the top 5 but that didn’t happen last year and the team seemed to fade at the end with a 9th place finish in the Desert Classic and a 17th place finish at the Series. 2008 OUTLOOK: This team can score runs in bunches and will be knocking on the door to the top 5 all season. They can beat any team in the nation if they get on a roll. They are unquestionably the best single agency team in the West. That’s right; all Red players are employed by the Riverside Sheriff Department!

In 2006:
Most improved team in the West. Won Cal-Games gold, Vegas Games gold and knocked off some top teams in the nation at the World Series enroute to a 9th place finish. Look for the Red to be a power broker in 2007.

The Red is a team nobody takes lightly and losses to power teams such as HardCor and MC Blues are nothing to be down about.

Summary
The RSD Red Team formed as a 35 plus team in 1998 from RSD West and East teams. In our first tournament, the 1998 California Summer Games, we took the Silver and with that decided to stay in the 35 & over division. We play continue to play and be competitive in open tournaments.
Tournaments Hosted
How We Beat You
We play good defense and hit well up & down the line-up.
How You Beat Us
We have trouble with teams that have lots of speed and go long often.
Team Highlight
The Red Team has won 5 Golds (1-CA, 2-NV & 2 AZ), 8 Silvers (4 CA, 1 NV & 3 AZ), & 4 Bronze (2 CA & 2 AZ) in Police games in California, Nevada & Arizona. The most rewarding was finally getting by our good friends from O.C.(Hitmen) and taking the Gold in the 2004 California Games going undefeated through the tournament. The hardest was our 2005 Gold Medal in the Nevada games after a couple of very close, hard fought games with another one of our good friends (San Diego Gray).
Team Lowlight
This team doesn't dwell on the bad, we know, "It's only a game!" We'll get you next time!
Goals
The important thing is that we are able to play the game and enjoy the friendships we make with our fellow law enforcement buddies. Other than that, just stay healthy, win a few medals & enjoy playing the game for as long as we can!
