Wayne-Oakland
Latest Tournament Report:
Tied for 9th in Dayton.

In 2008:
Andy Wurm lost many of his players but as in years past, Andy has always fielded a highly competitive team as shown by his World Series and Sterling and Dayton finishes last year. In the last two years the Wayne Oakland squad has finished in the top 10 of the PoliceSoftball.com rankings and they are a team you never want to see. They have owned most of the battles with the Michigan lawmen lately and the first time these two teams face in 2008 will be an instant classic. Wayne Oakland finished 7th out of 45 teams in the World Series and showed the world that no matter the controversy swirling around them, they can set that aside on the field and play some serious ball. 2008 OUTLOOK: The hardest part for Hall of Famer Coach Wurm will be to field a consistent line up. Expect Andy to use every trick in the book (within the rules) to piece together the best line-up the tourney directors allow. You can expect to see police/corrections/reserves/parole etc. players from all over the country donning the Green & Gold in 2008. Bottom line: Hall of Famer Andy Wurm just wants to play ball and field a team of individuals with a similar mindset. If he can pull this off, expect another impressive season and another top 10 finish. If Andy has trouble getting a consistent line up, look for W/O to drop.

In 2006:
Started the re-building year slowly going 1-2 in JAX. Played a lot better in Dayton with a break through 2nd place in Sterling Heights. Beat the Michigan Lawmen twice head to head in BIG tournaments thus they have bragging rights in Michigan. Player/ Coach Andy Wurm is steadily restoring the Wayne/Oakland reputation. This mid-90’s powerhouse is BACK!!!! A player or two away from a major tourney win in ’07. But where will that player come from? Either way big things in store for this team in near future. 9th place n the WS was impressive considering the east and west talent at the event.

Reports of W/O's demise were greatly exaggerated. 5th in Jax proves they are back and strong. New faces, same results.
