Allan Westfall is our East Conference Player of the Year!
Westfall getting it done with the glove.
For the last nine years PoliceSoftball.com has named our yearly award winners and during many of those years, Alan Westfall's name was somehow in the mix. Although he did not win any of those previous awards, the fact that his name was talked about more often than anyone else's name says a lot about the caliber of player he is. This year that all changes as he was clearly our East Conference Player of the year.
Alan was recently named to our All-Decade Team and he is still in the in the prime of his softball career. Wherever he plays, his team seems to be in the hunt and more than likely, will bring home the hardware. Alan was on the #1 ranked EC team 3x with Jacksonville and 2x with D2E during the past 9 years. Based on what we have seen this year, 3N2/D2E has a very good chance to be Alan's 6th team ranked #1 at the end of the season.

We have seen Alan mature as a player and a person over the years and right now he is on top of his game. This could be his best year ever combining his talent, mind for the game and wisdom brought on by experience. Alan has also assumed a veteran leadership role on the red hot 3N2/D2E team and this will undoubtedly be a huge help if they find themselves needing a come from behind victory against an established powerhouse team.

Alan has no weaknesses to his game as he plays stellar defense, has a cannon arm and hits the ball for base hits or power on command. Many feel this will be his Derek Jeter coming out year where he leads his team to their first World Championship. If this happens, don't be surprised if you hear his name mentioned when the MVP trophy is handed out.

Congratulations Alan on a well deserved award and one that culminates a decade of outstanding play.
