Jorge Vina wins HR Derby
Connection and Degenerates Prevail in Sparks
Connection Wins Yet Another Title
Thanks again to those who supported the 7th Annual Law Enforcement Desert Shootout Tournament on May 7th and 8th at the Golden Eagle Complex in Sparks, NV. A portion of this year’s proceeds again went to the Ofc. John Hege Memorial Fund (OJHMF.org). John gave the ultimate sacrifice on March 21st, 2009. As an organ donor, he lives on through those he was able help after his death. Please check out OJHMF.org and become a donor.
This year’s Home Run Derby winner was The Connections Jorge Vina. He is no stranger to derby top spots.

The 2021 player party was held at O’Skis Pub and Grille. We packed the place, and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Cindy and her staff for the hospitality.
Anderson Bats were provided, and many were impressed with their durability and pop. A big thanks to Steve Abina and Anderson for making this happen.

This years round robin play saw Upper Division favorites Connection and Stanislaus Combo rise to the top. The Lower Division produced Oakland PD and Reloaded (2019 champs) as early favorites.

As the Upper Bracket progressed, Connection (2019 Desert Shootout Champs) once again pushed through the winner’s bracket. They fought tough teams like the Razorbacks and LAPD Blue to find themselves in the championship. As the loser’s bracket finalized, we watched the Razorbacks defeat proven teams like Stanislaus and the Enforcers. But once again, The Connection flexed their muscles and ended the tourney undefeated. Congratulations and enjoy the custom jersey prize package provided by Dan and DynaMac Sports Gear!

The Lower Bracket was a wild one this year with the addition of the Louisville Sluggers which were anchored by Trini Trinidad and Joe Monahan. They rolled through the winner’s bracket into the championship game with a team stacked with East Coast Legends. Meanwhile the up-and-coming NorCal Impact faced the Degenerates for a chance to go against them. In a hard-fought battle, the Degenerates prevailed but faced an uphill battle to double-dip Louisville Sluggers. Unfortunately for the Sluggers, the Degenerates came to fight and never stopped smashing. An impressive championship for the Degenerates may show us what’s to come in 2021 from this veteran group.
