Matt Woolf swinging it at the Police World Series
Matt Woolf has literally been around police softball his entire life as he is the son of PoliceSoftball.com Hall of Fame member David “Pineapple” Woolf. Growing up around the game and around such an influential father gave Matt a unique understanding and deep respect for the game.
Over the years Matt has been a huge help to policesoftball.com as one of our most active leader on our competition committee. Matt always gives very detailed and researched responses to our questions and has even voted in ways at times that seemed to go against his personal interests for the betterment of the game.
Matt is one of the students of our game and its’ history and he is always there for anyone involved in the sport. He is a longtime fixture for Ohio softball and has helped with the historic Dayton tournament.
Matt is a competitor on the field but will always play with a sportsman’s mentality. He is always available to help his brothers and the sport is demonstrably better with him in it. For all he has done for the many years he has been involved in our sport, awarding him with this award is the least we can do.
Thanks you Matt and congratulations on being our 2014 East Conference Shevy Wright Sportsman of the Year.
